Certified Restoration Services, Inc has been serving Northern Indiana’s fire and water damage restoration and reconstruction needs for over 13 years. In addition to those services we provide Bio hazard recovery, vandalism clean up/repair and any property damage. We are a full service restoration contractor.

Eric A. Secrist is the third generation owner and operator of the company.  Glenn Secrist, Eric’s grandfather, opened the doors to a new venture in construction with his sons in 1965. Upon his death his sons remained operational. In 1994 Steven A. Secrist, Eric’s father, purchased the business from his brother and restructured into a corporation. Thereby renaming the company Secrist Builders, Inc.

After serving his country in the United Sates Marine Corps, Eric returned home and partnered with Steven in 1996. The two made an investment into a franchise system, Purofirst International, adding a division to Secrist Builders, Inc. Opening the fire and water damage division named Purofirst Disaster Services in 1997.

Purofirst Disaster Services flourished and became the sole revenue for the corporation. Once this division was established Eric became the sole owner in 2001. In 2007 Purofirst Disaster Services reorganized and became Certified Restoration Services, Inc.

Obtaining the highest level of education in the fire and water damage restoration industry has been Eric’s vision for himself and technicians. He has been successful in achieving some certifications and working toward more. In addition to his certifications we make it a requirement for all our restoration technicians to be IICRC certified and we are a certified firm. These are a highlight of the current certifications CRS holds are as follows:

  • Water Loss Specialist #112 (RIA)
  • Master Fire and Smoke Restorer #79343 (IICRC)
  • Master Water Restoration #79343 (IICRC)
  • Master Textile Cleaner #79343  (IICRC)

Eric is working toward CR, Certified Restorer, through RIA.  In addition to the certifications we attend continuing education courses through out the year to ensure that we are using cutting edge technologies to improve proficiency, quality and cost effectiveness. Just completed lead abatement training.
